England's tight game triumphs bodes well for their T20 World Cup campaign

England last lost a T20I series two and a half years ago when India beat them two-one at home in the July of 2018. Since that series, Eoin Morgan's men have won seven and drawn one of their eight bilateral rubbers, with 15 wins from 20 completed matches. They haven't always played well in that period. They have rarely had their best team out either. But they have continually found a way to win, even in matches which seemed out of their grasp. It is a promising sign ahead of next year's World Cup.

A number of those 15 victories have come in tight matches, particularly of late. Of their seven wins this year, two of them have come by the margin of just two runs, with the bowlers holding their nerve in the closing overs. Four of them have gone down to the last over of England's chase as the batsmen have remained calm to see them over the line.
